Geeked Out!

I found another bag of books....now I have an extra pile from those you see in the last pic...teehee! I'm a book whore.

Anyway, the M. is off to Michigan after a wonderful 5 day visit. Despite mostly iffy weather throughout the week, we managed to keep ourselves entertained with a number of projects and visits to various places. Friday was to be hike day, but given the rain, it became a visit to the Johnson Museum and craft and game day. Our craft of the day was.....

DRAGON SHOES!! Yes, we are dorks, I have come to terms with this fact. However, you can't deny that the shoes are dorkalicously cool.

The initial drawing and the puffy paint....

M. in action while my shoes begin the drying process....

Nothing says bff like matching dragon shoes!

A close-up of M.'s super cute shoes.

I have plenty of left over paint if you too feel the desire to spice up some shoes! :-)

Book Replenishment

So....I have a book problem....when they are 10 cents apiece or a dollar a bag or free I take them ALL! Here's my haul from the last few days, a combination of book sale, cheap borders rack, and the back of M's oh-so-stylish mom van. Yikes! This should keep me occupied for awhile...oh and I totally deserve the trashy romances in the pile after getting through Njal's Saga...almost finished with it!

The Triumphant Return...

...of Doublegknits! Sooooooo happy that M. has come to town once again, we've been friends since freshman year of college. I met her the first week I was there when I heard the theme song from Gilmore Girls wafting down the hall. We spent the next four years watching it together and doing a host of other fun things! Since graduation, M. has come every May to stay with me. Yesterday, after a five o'clock arrival, we hit up the book sale, sushi, bubble tea, walked around town, and watched Ratatouille, oh and chatted up a storm. WONDERFUL!! I can't wait to go hiking and sit out reading and everything else we like to do together. I totally wish she still lived in town. Anyway, in lieu of convincing her to come back here, I'll just have to enjoy the rest of the week before she returns home :-)
